Three base areas
Zhangjiajie has one airport, one main train station, and three places travellers actually stay:

Prices are reference ranges and rise in season (Chinese holidays, summer weekends) — always confirm at booking.
Which area fits your plan
- 2–3 days, forest park first: stay near the Wulingyuan gate, then move downtown for Tianmen Mountain.
- Only 2 days: base downtown and visit Tianmen Mountain + the park as a day trip; or base at Wulingyuan and pick one peak area.
- With Grand Canyon: it lies between the park and downtown — one night nearby works well.
